As part of our 2008 retirement plan we intend to spend summers in our UK house and winters in our Manila house.

In 2014 we decided to demolish our Manila house garage and kitchen, in order to construct a 2 story extension comprising a new larger kitchen, additional lounge, master bedroom, office/den and second bathroom. This was completed in 2016.

After almost two years of hassle, sacking the first architect, and dealing with unbelievable municipality bureaucracy, we finally got the building permit issued in October 2014.

Demolition work and excavation for the new foundations started the second week of November 2014.
